One stone passed — and the fear of the next one never did?
Stones recur in a large share of people within a few years — unless the chemistry that built them changes. Root-cause natural prevention with Dr. Deepshikha Gaur, BNYS, alongside your urologist’s care.

A pain you never forget — and never want back
Anyone who has passed a stone describes it the same way: unforgettable. The wave of flank pain, the hospital night, the scan, the waiting. Then relief — and a quiet new anxiety with every twinge in the back. Here’s what most people are never told clearly: stones are highly likely to return if nothing changes, because the stone was a product, not a cause. The cause was urine chemistry — and urine chemistry is built by daily habits you control.
What actually builds a stone
The threads we most often find: chronic low water intake — concentrated urine is the single biggest stone factory, especially through Indian summers and desk jobs where thirst is ignored; a salty diet, because sodium drags calcium into the urine; heavy oxalate loads without smart pairing; too much animal protein acidifying the urine; sugary drinks; low citrate — the body’s natural stone inhibitor — from a diet missing citrus and fruit; and being overweight or insulin-resistant, both of which shift urine chemistry stone-ward. Your stone’s type (your urologist’s report tells us) decides exactly which threads matter most for you.

Water, citrus and less salt — the least glamorous, most powerful stone prevention known.
The natural approach at Prahana Health
Dr. Deepshikha Gaur, BNYS, rebuilds your urine chemistry through the day you actually live: a hydration system you’ll genuinely follow — not just “drink more water”; salt correction that survives Indian cooking; smart oxalate strategy — pairing, not banning, your greens; citrate-raising food; protein balance; and weight and sugar support where those drive the chemistry. Small stones your urologist says can pass are supported with hydration and guidance; larger or obstructing stones belong to urology first — lithotripsy or surgery when indicated — and we take over on the far side to stop the next one forming.
Stone risk often overlaps with excess weight, blood sugar patterns and gut and digestion issues. A root-cause plan addresses them together.
What patients report
Patients who follow their plans consistently commonly report fewer episodes, better hydration habits that stick, and scans their urologist is happy to review — with stone management decisions always staying with the treating doctor.
“Stone in both kidneys and gall bladder as well… Severe urine infection with burning sensation throughout the day… She provided me diet charts and some cleanse medicines. I started the treatment in March and now I feeling very well… It became possible due to her deep knowledge, devotion and care.”

Does kidney stone prevention really begin before your first cup of tea?
Anyone who has passed a kidney stone does not forget it, and the fear that another one is quietly forming sits in the background for years afterwards. If that is you, here is the part of the day I would ask you to look at first — and it is not dinner. You have just spent seven or eight hours without a sip of water while still losing fluid through your breath and your skin. Your first urine of the morning is the most concentrated of the whole day, and concentrated urine is exactly the condition in which tiny crystals stop washing away and start finding each other. That deep yellow colour in the bathroom is not a small detail. It is information.
So the routine is simple, and it goes before the tea, not after. Two unhurried glasses of plain water on waking — warm water with a squeeze of lemon suits many people, and the citrate in citrus helps keep calcium crystals from clumping together. Then your tea, but just the one. Glance at the colour again by mid-morning; pale straw means you are diluting well, and darker means you are behind. Fill a bottle and take it with you, because a humid Jamnagar September drains fluid through sweat you barely notice. Go gently on the salty start — farsan, pickle, papad at breakfast — since a high salt load pushes more calcium into the urine. And keep a glass by your bed for before you sleep, because the night is the long dry stretch we are trying to soften.

Your questions, answered
Can natural remedies dissolve my stone?
Honest answer: most stones don’t dissolve, and “stone-dissolving” promises deserve suspicion. Certain uric-acid stones can shrink under medically supervised urine-chemistry treatment via your urologist. Our strongest work is helping passable stones pass and — above all — preventing the next one.
When does a stone need a urologist urgently?
Severe unrelenting pain, fever or chills with stone pain, vomiting that prevents fluids, blood in urine, or inability to pass urine — go to a hospital immediately. A blocked, infected kidney is an emergency. Prevention work waits; that cannot.
Does beer flush out stones?
A popular myth — alcohol dehydrates you and adds stone-friendly load. What “flushes” is plain, consistent water intake spread across the day. Save the money, drink the water.
Must I give up tomatoes, spinach and palak forever?
Usually not — blanket bans are outdated. Pairing oxalate foods with calcium at the same meal, hydrating well and moderating salt matters far more than exile. Your stone type decides the details. Results vary from person to person.
