Monsoon Gut Trouble? Start Here
Every monsoon, digestion slows and immunity dips — which is exactly when acidity, bloating and infections flare. In this short video, Dr. Deepshikha Gaur (BNYS) shares simple, natural monsoon habits that support your gut through the season.
The cycle you’re stuck in
Burning behind the chest after meals. Sour burps in the evening. That heaviness that makes you dread eating out. Sleep broken by reflux at 2 am, then a tablet in the morning so the day can function. The tablet works — until it doesn’t, and the dose that used to last a week now lasts a day. Chronic acidity is your gut asking for a routine change, not just more suppression.
What’s really feeding the fire
The threads we most often find: late, heavy dinners followed by lying down too soon; long hungry gaps followed by overeating; tea or coffee on an empty stomach; eating fast, under stress, at a screen — the gut–stress axis is the most underestimated driver of acidity; trigger foods specific to you; and disturbed sleep, which weakens digestion the very next day. Each thread alone is small. Together, they keep the fire burning.

Cooling, everyday foods from your own kitchen — when and how you eat matters as much as what you eat.
The natural approach at Prahana Health
Dr. Deepshikha Gaur, BNYS, rebuilds your gut’s rhythm: meal timing that ends dinner well before bed; food combinations and preparations that soothe rather than provoke; identifying your personal triggers instead of banning everything; stress and breath practices that switch the body into digest mode; and sleep correction. The plan uses your own kitchen — nothing exotic — and works alongside any medication your doctor has prescribed.
Chronic acidity often overlaps with migraine, poor sleep, anxiety and weight struggles. A root-cause plan addresses them together.
What patients report
Patients who follow their plans consistently commonly report less burning and bloating within weeks, lighter digestion after meals, and far less reaching for antacids — any medicine changes always through their doctor.

Does your acidity really begin at dinner — or at 6 am?
Most people with chronic acidity blame the night before. But think about how the morning actually goes: you wake with a sour taste already in the mouth, sit up quickly, and the first thing that reaches an empty stomach is hot, strong chai — often while you are standing, half-dressed, calling to the children about their school bags. Breakfast, if it happens, comes an hour or two later. The stomach keeps making acid through the night whether or not there is food in it, and caffeine on an empty stomach both stimulates more acid and briefly loosens the valve at the top of the stomach. Add hurry, and digestion never quite switches on. By eleven o’clock the burning feels like it came from nowhere.
Reordering the first hour helps more than most people expect. Sit up for a minute before standing, and begin with a glass of plain warm water rather than tea. Put something in the stomach before the chai — even a soaked-and-peeled almond or two, a small piece of fruit, a spoon of soaked sabja — and let the tea come after breakfast instead of before it. Eat within an hour of waking, sitting down, away from the phone; take three or four slow breaths with a long, unhurried exhale before the first bite, because that longer out-breath nudges the body into its rest-and-digest state, where the gut actually works. Warm and simple suits the mornings best in Jamnagar — moong chilla, upma, thepla with a little curd, poha. And if dinner has been late, keep breakfast lighter rather than skipping it altogether; a long empty stretch usually makes the burning worse, not better.

Your questions, answered
Can I stop my antacid tablets?
Not on your own — stopping some acid medicines abruptly causes rebound acidity. As your gut settles, reduction happens gradually and only under your doctor’s guidance.
Will I have to give up spicy food and chai forever?
Rarely forever. We find your actual triggers and fix the timing and combinations first — many people comfortably return to moderate versions of the foods they love once the gut has calmed.
How soon does it settle?
Meal-timing corrections often show relief within 1–2 weeks; deeper gut-rhythm change is typically reviewed over 4–8 weeks. Results vary from person to person.
I’ve had this for years. Is it too late?
The gut lining renews itself remarkably fast when the daily insults stop. Long-standing patterns take more consistency, not more luck. Persistent or severe symptoms should also be evaluated by your doctor.
